29 Oct 09 How to bypass a windows vista admin user account password?

Just be patient. The Official release of windows 7 will have new features, bugs fixed, and so on………… making the RC version outdated.
Finally, update both systems. You need to install protection on the XP partition (virus and spy programs) but you don’t have to on the Linux side.
Good Luck.
Windows Starter editions will range between 45-50$, as well as the upgrades. Im currently running win 7 RC build 7100, and its great.
Login to administrator account then go to control panel>user accounts>see if your user name is listed there,if it is there you can reset the password & also you can change the type to admin type.If your user account is not listed there, some thing has deleted that(virus).try creating a new user with admin type.
3.if you can’t log in to administrator account also, then try some free tools available to reset admin password through google search & use it.
If you neeed any help with PC problems,e-mail me or visit www.computerspecialistonline.com.
Unfortunately, you have to put XP on first. The boot loader from Microsoft will only recognize older versions of M$ software and nothing else. Here’s what you have to do:
Save any files you may have on your Linux distribution so you can load them back up later.
Install XP, removing the Linux partitions and formatting the entire disk as you do it.
You may need to use another program or you may use your Linux disk, but the next thing is to partition the hard drive, giving XP and Linux some room to work. Depending on which you want to use most of the time, you may want to give the more important O.S. more room, or just split it 50/50 for now.
Install Linux. During the install it will see the XP install and create a boot loader so that when you start your computer you’ll see both of them in a list and you can choose the one you want to use at that time.
The windows 7 RC will expire June 2010. But starting March of 2010, your computer will turn off every 2 hours. So once the official windows 7 RTM gets releases, the RC is pretty much useless. In order to upgrade you will need windows vista and then upgrade to windows 7.

If you’ve successfully remodeled a bathroom, you shouldn’t have any trouble with windows.
There are two approaches to replacing windows — make the window fit the opening, or make the opening fit the window. This is an important distinction when dealing with non-standard size window openings. I’m a good woodworker, and would be quite comfortable re-working the opening to fit a standard size window – but I prefer to make the windows fit the openings, even if it means spending a bit more on the windows.
A few things to remember when replacing windows — get rid of any rotten wood while you’re at it… don’t forget your insulation/caulk, and be sure to install them square, plumb, and level, hehe.
You can try Cucusoft DVD and Video converters suite which includes Cucusoft Ultimate DVD and Video Converter Suite.

29 Oct 09 How much space should I give the windows partition?

I know that installing double glazed windows is obligatory in private property in case of replacement, but how about commercial property? Do I have to use double glazed windows in the shop?
Ask your local Building Inspector. Usually improvements to existing property are not retrospective. But it would be wise to enquire.
1.Upgrading that mean you already have a previous version of Windows is exsiting on your system. Upgrade will replace older version of Windows with a newer without losing any Personalized Setting and applications were installed on previous version.
2.Clean install that mean you will format the partition older Windows places. And install new one. You have to reinstall all application require for your work.
Sorry for My English. So bad. But just need asker understand what I talk about.
an upgrade installs over top of your current installed Windows operating system, you don’t loose any programs or documents doing an upgrade. A clean install is just the opposite, you loose everything on your computer, all programs, documents and such. If it is only a test computer i would recommend doing a clean install, or creating a partition and dual booting windows 7 and your current OS
They really aren’t different. Upgrade will take your existing data and move it to Win7, then basically blow everything away and re-image, then put your stuff back.
Clean will just wipe everything clean and start from scratch. Beware tho- the upgrade doesn’t always grab all of your stuff. Def make a backup before you do it.
IM or email me if you have any questions.
Yes, there’s a difference. To install is generally used to describe the loading of a particular program where no previous version of that program has been on the computer. To upgrade is to add a new version of a program, replacing a version that was on the computer’s hard drive.
I’m planning to replace the front windows of the shop.

29 Oct 09 What type of files are backed up on the windows back up tool?

I thought something else would happen lol.
Thanks.
An upgrade just upgrades the Windows files…keeping all your data files and installed programs on your computer.
An install you wipe your hard drive and install a fresh copy…losing any installed programs or data files you have saved.
I get to the window that asks me to select windows xp media center edition but i can never click it before it goes to black and goes back to telling me to start it again. I do not have a back up cd, I’m really bad at this, I need detailed instructions not using computer words I don’t know.
well your being a little confusing here but I’ll try any way, can you actual log in to your account? or is this all happening when windows is starting up? if you can log in you should try going on line and downloading some antiviral programs like spy-ware doctor or a squared ( both free programs) if you can’t log in then try booting in safe mod, you can do this when you first turn on your computer and the screen is just black and whit and says what ever brand of computer you have with a loading bar at the bottom, ones the bar gets about half way full hit the f-8 or f-9 a few times then the screen should go totally black for a min, with a flashing whit under score then you should try hitting f-8 or f-9 a few more times. then a screen should come up with a bunch of different boot options use your arrow keys to highlight the one that says safe boot with networking, or if you don’t wont the internet just safe boot. now hit enter. log into you account and try to work out the problem from there if you can’t figure it out on your own then you should probably take it to a computer doctor. hop this helped :)
easiest thing to do when you see that screen is press the f8 key on your keyboard.
then use the up and down arrows to find the option that says “boot into safe mode”
if after starting in safe mode the computer restarts on its own again, the issue is something you will need to bring into a computer store to take a look at. always better safe than sorry..
based on the fact you seem to be in what we call a ‘reboot loop’, trying to boot into safe mode is the easiest way to test it out
you’ll need a disk to fix this
I want to install Windows 7 RC on my test computer and I saw that there were two options.
Upgrade and a Clean Install.
This might sound like a dumb question, but is there any difference?
Thanks!
I knew about the obvious one – keeping files and folders.

29 Oct 09 How to get a song from my i Tunes to the windows movie maker?

For instance, my Nvdia drivers allow me to specify and force non-standard resolutions, which you may want to try, if your graphics card drivers allow for this.
You messed up the video driver.Go to the makers website and download the latest
Unplugg plug back in monitor restart.
I have a windows XP Professional computer that I just reinstalled windows in, i deleted everything using DBAN, now I’m trying to get my network connection back. I was wondering how do i do that. The little image on the bottom right hand corner where the clock is that has to the 2 computer with a red X symbolizing no internet connection isn’t even there. Just Windows Messenger.
First, get internet from your phone or cable company
i have windows vista and a 17″ widescreen monitor. Normally the resolution is set at 1440×900 but it changed to 800×600 by itself and when i try to change it, it doesnt give me widescreen resolution options. How do i fix this? ive already tried reinstalling the monitor driver.
Try reinstalling your Video/Graphics card drivers, and adjusting resolution using that driver’s interface.

29 Oct 09 How can i make a bootable windows xp cd?

This is during setup and it finishes through setup and installs windows but of course windows does not load. It just keeps restarting. The reason why I am installing windows again was becuase this issue while windows was working and I could not install a wireless card due to it. Any help would be great, Thanks.
This should be answered by Microsoft. Usually the user agreement will have this info.
You get one computer activated per key regardless of version.
The Ultimate version has features that are unnecessary for most consumers, and most are perfectly fine this round with Home Premium, or perhaps Professional.
It’s very unlikely you need things in Ultimate like BitLocker or the ability to use lanugage packs. Ultimate is feature-wise the same thing as the high end Enterprise business edition, but just a way for consumers to get the extra features if they desperately want them.
Microsoft is supposedly going to have family packs eventually available where you’d get 3 Home Premium activations (i.e., use for 3 computers) likely somewhere in the $150 ballpark.
Step one would be to confirm that you really really truly want and need the couple pricey extra features in Ultimate — you almost certainly don’t. They’re mainly useful for some business environments where there might, for example, be a laptop shared by multiple people speaking multiple languages and regularly traveling internationally where the BitLocker security would be useful as well.
One licence per installed Computer is required. So sharing with several computers is not allowed, but using the copy with several users on one machine is no problem at all. But I don’t think that’s what you had in mind.
generally speaking, unless stated otherwise, you get one license per key
I have a gateway 818GM desktop computer but when I use the windows disk to install a fresh copy it says “some hardware did not install correctly due to invalid data.”

29 Oct 09 Why are the windows so much smaller in Canada compared to other places in the world?

What’s going to sway me is the Windows 7 Ultimate pack. It’s a bit pricey for one user, but if shared over several users it’s worth in my opinion.
I’ve done my best to find this out, to no avail, and was wondering if one of you lovely people knew the answer. How many people can install Windows 7 on a single “Ultimate” Product Key?
Every time I try and import a movie file into Windows Movie Maker, it wants to break it up into multiple movie clips (sometimes hundreds!).
It invariablly causes some kind of instability and the program closes.
Surely there’s a way to stop it from breaking it up like this?
if you hit the ‘cancel ‘ button while its creating the movies, it’ll load the big movie with out splitting it into parts.
Don’t know of any program which can do the job.
However, if I may ask, is the imported clip a movie of sorts?
surely it will produce hundreds of clips.
This involves the RAM, the amount of memory your PC uses to do tasks.
If you’re just finding specific clips in that imported clip, do try to just cut it out.
however, if you need multiple clips, it maybe kinda hard, considering that it may produce hundreds
Try Googling your question or something like
Windows Movie Maker multiple movie clips from one imported clip or something like that.
better instead of importing the video clip , try click and drag the file to the collections
When you import big file, you will see a pop-up window.
You can hit the ‘cancel ‘ button while its creating the movies, it’ll load the big movie with out splitting it into parts.
Good luck.
Avast!
Antivirus deleted some of my windows files so I need to re-install my Operating system.
Please help/provide links?
You cannot legally download Windows Vista Home Premium. Period.
Look towards the bay my pirate friend ;)
I have installed the Windows 7 RC, and am currently debating whether to keep going with it or to go back to Vista.

29 Oct 09 What do i get with windows vista home basic?

The rest of the setup should be very easy compared to what you have gotten through. Just follow the wizard and it will restart the computer into Windows XP. Then it will ask you a few more questions, before logging into the account that you created. AND THATS IT! You’re done!
If you see a recovery partition, you can try to use that partition, by press another one of the F-key when your PC starts up.
Otherwise, delete your current Windows XP partition by pressing the ‘D’ key on it.
Then press ‘C’ on the “Unpartitioned Space”.
Then, type in the size of the partition and press Enter.
If you don’t know what size you need, just press Enter with the number that it is in there already. Then, you should return to the screen displaying all of your partitions. When you do, press Enter on the partition that you just created.
Then, you will be shown a screen where you will be prompted to choose a filesystem. The main decision that you have to make here is which filesystem to use. NTFS is a newer filesystem and FAT32 is an older filesystem. The main difference between the two is that NTFS can store files that are bigger than 4GB. But, FAT32 also has an advantage: Most Linux operating systems cannot give you write access to NTFS partitions and therefore, you need to use NTFS.
So, you should select NTFS unless you use Linux, or there is another reason for selecting it. Also, be sure to choose the option that has (Quick) beside it. This will make a quicker format.
If you have very important files on your hard disk, and you don’t want anybody to be able to recover them, you should choose the option without (Quick) beside it.
This will perform a full format.
The rest should be easy, setup will format the hard drive, then copy the contents of the CD on the hard drive. It will then restart the PC.
DO NOT boot back into the CD. In other words, do not “Press any key” when the message pops up.
The installation will continue with about five steps. It will ask you general questions during the installation such as time zone and country. Also, it will ask you for a serial number for Windows XP. You can find this on a sticker, which should be somewhere on the case of your PC. Look at the back or side of your tower for a colourful sticker that says Microsoft Windows XP.
The serial number should be located on it. It is a series of alphanumeric characters. Or, if you purchased Windows XP separately, it should be on the box.

29 Oct 09 How do I work Windows Movie Maker if it keeps glitching up?

They will be in a rectangular box. If you computer is from a major computer manufacturer, you will have your current Windows XP partition and also a recovery partition.
Here is a guide that my friend and I wrote about how to install Windows XP. Enjoy!
I don’t know your level of experience with computers, I will try to be as accurate as possible in the steps to take.
First you must take the obvious action of backing up your data and documents before you begin because everything will be erased afterwards. You can do this by either burning them onto discs or USB storage devices etc.
These are just general instructions that might seem a little inexplicit. I wont go in-depth because there’s simply too many things to state.
All you have to do to begin is to pop the Windows XP Disc into your CD-ROM drive, and restart the computer with the disc still inside. Now here’s where I might have a problem in helping you, normally it will say press any key to continue, if it says that, great then do it. If not, your BIOS might not have the proper boot order, which means that the computer might boot from your hard drive instead of the CD. In this case there has to be a key to press that gives you boot options, such as the F12 key in Dell BIOS’s (Its usually one of the F-keys). It will come up when starting of the computer.
After choosing boot from CD-ROM in boot options, you will have to wait as the Windows disc loads and caches drivers and modules essential for the installation process, just looks like a big blue screen with words flashing at the bottom.
You will have to follow a set of questions by pressing the keys stated at the bottom of the blue screen to continue, such in the beginning when it tells you to press F8 if you agree with the license terms.
Do this up until you come to a screen displaying your current hard drive configuration, stating all the partitions and what file systems each are formatted in

29 Oct 09 How do make My windows vista movie maker work on my windows 7?

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select BOOT and set the CD as the first boot. Press F10 to save and exit. The XP CD should be in the CD drive when you power up next time. Just follow the instructions to reformat dive and install XP.
I cant login to my computer and everytime i do it within seconds logs off on its own. How can I wipe my computer and install windows xp using a cd. I dont want to save any of my files. I just want to delete all files from the hardrive and install windows xp. I have the cd so thats not an issue. REMEMBER I CANT LOG IN TO MY COMPUTER!
You can erase all your files on the Disk by formatting it.
Hopefully your WinXP CD is bootable, first you set the CMOS settings to first boot on your CD/DVD-Rom, then save and exit. and it will restart the Comp. then after. It will msg as “Press any key to boot from CD” with that you will boot it from Cd and install a new OS on your Computer. Just format your Computer before installing your OS(windowsXP).
with that without even login you completely erase or start a new Windows XP.
hope that helps! :)
you dont need to wipe your computer
if you start your computer in safe mode, when it gets to the login screen it should show an administrator account thats not there when you start windows normally. If you havent disabled that you should be able to login under that administrator account and delete the password on your account so you may login again
I’m going to keep this simple:
1) You could try safe mode and disable any start-up items.
2) Since that normally doesn’t work, take the CD and put it into your cd-drive. Make sure your pc is set to start from a cd-rom, and then follow the instructions for installation. You could choose to delete the partition and do a clean install, or install over it. I would not use the recovery console, since it never works for me.
When your computer is starting up, you need to press DEL key or some other key (different manufacturers sometimes have different keys to press) to enter SETUP.
